One Flock camera hit put an innocent woman in jail for 13 days

The Story
Lindsey Isaacs, 23, spent 13 days in jail (including solitary) facing vehicular-homicide charges after a Flock ALPR camera placed her black Dodge Durango a few miles from a fatal crash. Witnesses described a maroon Durango; her car had no matching damage. Police still arrested her on the camera data. Charges were later dropped; she testified to the Senate about the experience.
Why It Matters
A single automated camera reading overrode human evidence and put a real person in a cage. Surveillance tech, law, identity, and the machine’s version of “this is the one.
